Buy-to-let property in Bulgaria 'offers opportunities'
Buying property in Bulgaria with a view to letting it out in the future offers many opportunities for potential investors, according to a sector specialist.
Alan Ward, chairman at the Residential Landlords Association, says it may be sensible for proprietors and those with free capital to consider expanding their portfolio, as there is always room for profit in the market.
"There are always opportunities. However, we should be wary of people with self-interest who talk-up the market," he states.
Mr Ward says that anybody considering buying a home with the intention of letting it out in the future should evaluate the market and make sure statistics about prices and local amenities are accurate and reliable before committing.
The expert's comments come after Ray Jones, head of communications at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, recently said that the over-60s demographic is a "big chunk" of the overseas property market, as they have the money free to spend on a home overseas.
