Investors 'should look to real estate in the UAE'

Investors who buy distressed real estate in the
United Arab Emirates (UAE) are making a "solid addition" to their portfolio, a specialist asserts.
Christopher Chadd, head of research at Property Frontiers, said
Abu Dhabi is one area where buyers have a range of options, as it is a very rich state.
"The potential going forward is far greater. Abu Dhabi has had the advantage of watching
Dubai's progress," he explained.
Mr Chadd added that there are definitely "sound investment opportunities" to be had if buyers choose the right
real estate in the UAE, particularly distressed homes which often offer great discounts.
He also pointed to the large reductions currently being offered on
property in Dubai, with 50 per cent decreases on peak prices potentially enticing investors.
Lee Kandalaft, deputy director infrastructure on Yas Island, recently said that Abu Dhabi has seen continued progression of units in the region while many other global sectors have suffered due to the worldwide economic downturn.
