People travelling to property in Spain 'need insurance'

People travelling to stay in
a property in Spain must ensure they have the right amount of cover to deal with any potential catastrophes, according to a sector expert.
Malcolm Tarling, a spokesman for the Association of British Insurers, says anyone thinking of venturing overseas not only needs travel insurance, but must also be given clear advice on it.
"It may be that taking out that policy with that provider is a good thing to do but people should be aware of the options so they can make the right judgement," he explains.
Mr Tarling adds that the number of people travelling to stay in property in
Spain who are failing to take out an adequate level of cover is "alarming", as they are failing to protect themselves.
According to a recent report by InsureandGo, the total cost of overseas accidents suffered by uninsured Brits in 2008 was £90 million, a 38 per cent increase on the year before.
