Property in Dubai 'a good opportunity'

Investing in a property in Dubai can present a good opportunity for a buyer purchasing at the right price, according to a sector expert.

Jannie Biddulph, sales manager at Better Homes, says the company's recent open day was hugely popular, as attendees enquired about accommodation in the emirate's Jumeriah Beach Residence.

"There were no signs of repressed customers during our open day weekend. The promotion received over 350 walk-in customers, seeking both properties for sale and for rent," she comments.

Billy Rautenbach, director of operations at the company, says the turnout indicates that there are great opportunities for both the sale and lease of property in Dubai.

She adds that as soon as lending becomes available in the city on a wider scale, she expects there to be a rapid increase in the number of sales.

In related news, the Dubai Islamic Bank recently announced it is offering up to 90 per cent finance for people buying real estate in the United Arab Emirates, bucking the worldwide trend.
