Property in Spain 'still the favourite'

Property in Spain is still the most popular investment for Brits buying overseas, according to new statistics.

Industry expert Property Abroad has revealed the five most popular search terms for potential investors in a place in the sun, with property in Spain taking the top spot.

Les Calvert, director of the organisation, says the new figures will be released every month, with March being the first study.

Property in Spain retains a timeless appeal and will continue to do so, he states, especially as sterling is gaining ground on the euro once more.

"Spain has always been our most popular and our primary user base comes from Britain, so this shows the Brits still love Spain," Mr Calvert explains.

In related news, a spokesman for the Association of Independent Tour Operators recently said people travelling to stay at property in Spain can still benefit from the "great value" that the country has to offer.
