Railway merger set to improve transport links

The merger of three Balkan railways may result in better transport links for people travelling to stay in property in
Bulgaria.
Officials in the country have given the go-ahead for the amalgamation of BDZ Passenger Transport, Colovag and metal specialist Intercom.
The Bulgarian competition watchdog has green lit the new venture, which will operate under the name BDZ Bulvagon.
Among the aims of the company will be an increase the safety of railways in the country, providing greater reassurance for people travelling by train to stay in property in Bulgaria.
The new firm says it will achieve this goal by exerting tighter control over the manufacture and repair works of passenger wagons.
It is also expected to create several new jobs in the narrow railway specialist sector, providing greater employment opportunities for people living in property in Bulgaria.
