UK workers

The number of people leaving behind economic strife and unemployment in the
UK to relocate to the
United Arab Emirates is on the rise, a report suggests.
According to The Sunday Times, more Brits are on the hunt for property in the UAE and
Dubai as they bid to escape the economic troubles of their homeland in search of sunnier climes and improved quality of life overseas.
Myk Baxter, who left
Newcastle for a new life in the Middle East two months ago, told the paper that the lack of opportunities in the UK had prompted him to look elsewhere.
"Life out here is so much better. I live 15 minutes' walk from the beach and there's a great expat community," he claimed.
The report suggests that "there has never seemed a better time" for those looking to relocate abroad, with poor economic conditions and the high cost of living causing many to follow in Mr Baxter's footsteps.
Indeed, an adviser from
Oxford University's business school suggested recently that the Dubai economy represented "the only bright spot" for young workers in an otherwise grim global economy, according to The Orange County Register.
