Workers 'could seek move to UAE'

Workers 'could seek move to UAE' The number of expats seeking property in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) could rise as the region continues to attract top workers.

According to research by Manpower, the country came out sixth in the world as a job destination of choice.

However, with the top two countries in the list - the US and the UK - both increasingly gripped by the global credit squeeze, more job seekers could be set to consider alternative locations.

Vanira Nissen, managing director at Manpower Middle East, told Emirates Business that this could mean more workers making the move to the UAE.

Its potential for career advancement, better quality of life and increased earning potential was unlikely to be affected in the short term, she added.

This means the high number of workers making the switch to the region is likely to continue in the coming years, she explained, especially if it continued its economic upturn.

One Brit who has already ditched his life at home to seek work in Dubai told the Sunday Times recently that he found life "so much better" since the move.
