Tourist Overview: The USA offers a unique combination of bigger than big cities with their fast paced life and great outdoor opportunities and lots of fun. The East coast has many cities worth discovering, such as New York, a unique melting pot of cultures with the world's most famous skyline; Boston, also known as "Bean Town"; Philadelphia, home of Independence Hall; Washington, District of Columbia the capital city; and Atlanta, where the 1996 Olympics were held.
On the west coast, you'll find expansive, wide open spaces and amazing national parks. The west coast's major city, Los Angeles, is a world unto itself. Other attractions include Hollywood (start with the Universal City studio tour) and Disneyland, in Anaheim. North of Los Angeles is gorgeous San Francisco, one of America's nicest cities and the home of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and Streetcars. Continuing up the coast is Seattle, the birthplace of the Starbucks coffee company and in close proximity to the quaint San Juan islands.

Terrain: vast central plain, mountains in west, hills and low mountains in east; rugged mountains and broad river valleys in Alaska; rugged, volcanic topography in Hawaii
