Why buy a property in Croatia? A few words from our featured agent:
|
Croatia - The heart of Europe. Various articles have been written including one from the Financial Times “Croatia - The Mediterranean’s latest property hotspot." It’s unspoiled, relaxed, beautiful, and safe; Croatia is one of Europe’s loveliest places. Crystal-clear seas, timeless fishing villages and unspoiled beaches, Roman ruins and walled cities.
Croatia is no longer a war zone. I know from family and friends that have visited us here they are actually amazed at the infrastructure that's in place. They loved everything about it, especially the food and wine! They will all certainly be returning that's for sure. As to when we said we were coming here to live, the reactions we received from thinking that it was backwood and a poor country - nothing could be further from the truth. If you think this yourself then you are loosing out on a opportunity to own a holiday home and/or an investment opportunity. The crime rate is very low and it's a beautiful country.
Croatia has a population of just 4.5 million. The capital Zagreb of 800,000 is a great city and the heart of the country. International companies are setting up in this capital city, one being SAP – the world’s leading developer of business software has opened a regional consultancy centre.
The coastline extends 5,835 km of which 4,058 km comprise a coastline of islands, rocks and reefs. The climate is Mediterranean especially along the Adriatic coast, plenty of sunny days, dry and hot summers with mild and humid winters.
The currency is Kuna (1 Kuna = 100 lipa). Foreign currency can be exchanged in banks, exchange bureaux, post offices, travel agencies, hotels, camps, marinas. Or bring your Kuna’s with you, in the UK banks and post offices have the Kuna readily available.
Over the last few years Croatia has become one of the hot investment spots in Europe. It is worth remembering that Croatia is on track to join the EU, possibly as early as 2009.
Croatia's coastline is considered the most beautiful and least spoilt in the Mediterranean. Much of it is outlined by pine woods, the sea so clear. There are 1,185 islands in the Adriatic, but only about 50 are populated. The largest island is Krk (near Rijeka).
The main airports are Zagreb, Pula, Split, Dubrovnik and Rijeka.
UK visitors do not require a visa to enter Croatia. |
