The climate is Mediterranean especially along the Adriatic coast, plenty of sunny days, dry and hot summers with mild and humid winters. The currency is Kuna (1 Kuna = 100 lipa). Foreign currency can be exchanged in banks, exchange bureaux, post offices, travel agencies, hotels, camps, marinas. Or bring your Kuna’s with you, in the UK banks and post offices have the Kuna readily available. Over the last few years Croatia has become one of the hot investment spots in Europe.  It is worth remembering that Croatia is on track to join the EU, possibly as early as 2009.  Croatia's coastline is considered the most beautiful and least spoilt in the Mediterranean. Much of it is outlined by pine woods, the sea so clear. There are 1,185 islands in the Adriatic, but only about 50 are populated. The largest island is Krk (near Rijeka). The main airports are Zagreb, Pula, Split, Dubrovnik and Rijeka. UK visitors do not require a visa to enter Croatia.
