Living and owning property in Valencia
The region around Valencia is still comparatively unspoilt in terms of the usual kind of extensive urban development accompanying the holiday and tourism industry and perhaps also more importantly for you, the somewhat dreaded British Ex-pat communities and their indigenous culture. This region offers an abundance of beautiful and peaceful countryside, much of it under cultivation for the famous orange exports. Industry is largely confined to the suburbs of the city, and from virtually anywhere beyond this point there are very fine views of Valencia’s countryside sprinkled with private residences. The weather is, of course, everything you would expect of “sunny España” and is normally at most, only two degrees lower than the Costa del Sol.
In this region you will find an abundance of attractive and very individual properties on the market, both new and re-sale. There are many towns and villages around the area, so you will find that you will never be too far from local amenities such as banks and shops, provided that you have your own transport. There are single and two storey villas, almost all of which have swimming (or plunge) pools with filter systems. Many have extensive plots of land for cultivating private gardens and/or orchard/kitchen gardens, and all at far better prices than the more Southerly regions where the property market has long since reached its zenith, estate agents are cashing in and prices went “through the roof”. This also applies to the general cost of living there, where ex-pats are taken advantage of and are charged UK prices. On the other hand, you will find that Valencia remains indubitably Spanish.
You will probably be aware that, as a general rule, it is far wiser to invest your money in a place where the property market has not yet escalated to the kind of extortionate levels of other currently more popular Spanish locations. We think that this lovely area of Spain with its huge potential will be, in the not-so-distant future, the most “up and coming” in the country. That is why we think, at the present time, it is the best area for property investment in Spain. In the Valencia region you will buy at relatively low prices and sell for high as the market increases. In other words, we feel confident in predicting that at least in the foreseeable future, the profit margin on your property investment in Valencia will be considerably higher than the Costa Brava or Costa del Sol, making Valencia the most lucrative option for buying in Spain.
Peek at Spain - Featured agent in Valencia
Peek at Spain SL was one of the original British agents in this area around Spain’s third largest city – Valencia. We started selling properties in the countryside and the towns, under the “Peek at Spain” banner from the outset, in 2002 and we started as a legal Spanish limited company called Peek at Spain SL, which is fully registered for all taxes, IVA (VAT) etc. Over the years, we have built up an excellent reputation for our honesty and total commitment to our clients resulting in 57% sales from personal recommendations in 2005!
Since the early days and because of our excellent website and presence in the UK market, we have been approached to market properties in other areas of Spain, such as other parts of the Valencia province, which is also known as the Costa de Valencia and the Costa del Azahar. We also cover flats and penthouses in Valencia City itself. Further south is a beautiful area near the Sierra Mariola National Park with the towns of Ontinyent and Bocairent nearby. We refer to this area as “Inland Mid-Valencia”, to distinguish it from the region closer to our office.
We then added Mid-Valencia on the coast and Alicante, which is all known as the Costa Blanca and then added inland Murcia, whose coast line is called the Costa Calida. We also cover the coastal region of Murcia province. We were then asked by an Italian company to promote their very high quality new builds near Tarragona. Tarragona is further north of Valencia in Castellon, which is also known as the Costa Dorada.
Call or email us as we are here to help you without any pressure. Also register either for our newsletter or fully register to obtain additional information. Please note that we are unable to organise property viewings unless a client fully registers with us. This is the only commitment that we ask for from a client.
By fully registering, you will have access to a “members only” part of the site where you can download important documents in PDF format, so you can prepare for your property viewing visit. The more you know before you come out here the better and the more successful will be your property viewing experience, especially if you see something that you like! We take our job seriously, so we hope that you will take the time to prepare properly for your visit to see us.
With Peek at Spain SL you can be assured that there will be absolutely no pressure to purchase. We believe in guiding you through the process and allowing you to decide if a property is suitable. We are even happy to show you a sample selection of properties if you are unsure about this beautiful area, so you get a good idea of what is available.
The types of property range from penthouses, flats, town houses, villas, country houses and fincas. We cover several areas where houses are being built on a Golf Complex. There are others where the houses are being built first and the complex follows. So, check on the Country, Spain, Valencia, Golf section for more information.
We set up Peek at Spain SL in 2002 and we intend to be here for the long term. We are fully legal, being a Spanish registered company – Fully registered for taxes & IVA (Spanish VAT). John R.
