“Casa del Confessore” dates from to the 17th century but its foundation are much older and bring us back to the Roman age. The house has been used for centuries as the dwelling of the priest-confessor of the neighbouring convent from the 13th century; this is the reason for its nickname “Casa del Confessore” .

Thoroughly restored in 1991 and stylishly refurbished in 2006-2008, this exquisite property rises at the top of an ancient walled borgo in the county of Aquasparta, at short distance from the Roman remains of Carsulae and from the E45 motorway (5Km). Spoleto and Todi are both a circa 20 minute drive.
The view from the private garden and from the house is truly breathtaking: a quiet, tranquil landscape made of sweet rolling hills without any visual or acoustic disturbances.
The borgo has 250 inhabitants, with one bar and 3 restaurants. It is pedestrian only, with parking outside the town walls. Shops and amenities can be found in Acquasparta (4 km).

The main entrance, featuring a splendid stone arch, lies on the first floor, at the ground level of the upper alley. On the ground floor, connected to the first floor through characteristic wooden stairs, but also provided with 2 independent entrances from the lower alley, there are: an additional kitchen, fully equipped, a bathroom with shower, a splendid living room with original stone-exposed walls and a fireplace, 2 huge bedrooms (one currently used as a diner/study room), an additional multi-purpose room; from this latter, one can reach the Roman grottoes (40 sq m) on the lower floor, featuring original stone vaults. The heating system of the lower units, grottoes included, is independent from the upper unit.

The magnificent terraced cloister garden with ”Roman bath” - hydro massage in an antique vasca, is totally private and walled-in and boasts magnificent views; it is perfect for eating al fresco, for reading, relaxing or sun-bathing.
