The area
Burgau is one of the few remaining working fishing villages left in the Algarve, its history is of smuggling and the many winding cobbled paths and smugglers alleys all add to its charm.
There are 24 restaurents and bars within the village boundaries, and you are never far away from a wonderful meal whether it be fresh fish, one of the local dishes or perhaps a steak they cater for every taste and pocket
Within the village you will also find a Newsageants, 2 supermarkets, 2 wine shops, 2 gift shops, Estate Agent, Property Management and its own cash machine. - The Sports centre just outside of the village has a swimming pool, football, squash and tennis courts all of which you can use, and also run a very good children’s activity programme.
