    LOCATION: The village of Korten is situated in Southeastern Bulgaria. The village belongs to Nova Zagora Municipality, Sliven District. Nova Zagora Municipality is located in the Northern part of the Upper Thracian Valley between the big regional centres of Stara Zagora, Sliven and Yambol. Its territory covers the Novozagorsko pole, the Sveti Iliyski vuzvishenia(St. Ilia Hills) and part of the Sredna Gora Mountain slopes. The climate is moderate and favourable for developing agriculture. The major water sources in the area are the Toundzha River, the Sazliyska River and the Blatnitsa River. Along the Toundzha River Zhrebchevo Dam Lake was built. It provides fishing opportunities for all lovers of this leisure activity. There is a mineral spring with healing mineral water. Near the village is located monastery St. Kozma and Damyan.
