Bulgaria, near Pleven & Lovech

The village is located in a natural triangle - 25 kilometers South of Pleven, 28 kilometers West of Lovech and 30 kilometers Sout-East of Lukovit. The national high-way Sofia-Varna, which is in construction now, is supposed to go 15 kilometers away from the village. This would make the location of the village very strategic by making Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria) only two hours away, and Varna (the so called „sea-capital of Bulgaria“) 4 hours away with a car. The terrain is comparatively plain, low-pitched to West, but deeply serrated by the rivers in this area. Through the territory of the village are passing three rivers -Vit, Katuneshka and Zmiitsa Rivers.

The property is situated at walking distance from the village's center, at the corner of two streets, on the left bank of the village's river. The house is brick-built, two-storeyed (each floor having 45 sq.m. area) in structural good condition.

The first floor consists of a kitchen, big living room and a corridor, wooden stairs are leading to the second floor which comprises of two big bedrooms and a smaller one. The size of the floors allows bricking-up inner bathrooms on both floors, which would bring much more comfort to the house.Yet there is an attic with the same floorage (45 sq.m.) which could be easily transformed into additional living area, or could be used as a store-room. A wooden balcony in front provides a beautiful view to the surronding.

Attached to the main house is a huge two-storeyed farm-building, half brick-built, half white-stone built , which has statute of living area. This could be transformed into a nice guest-house or it could be easily connected with the main house adding more bedrooms, living rooms and even playrooms to the main house. Next to the farm-building there is a big white-stone-built penthouse.

The yard spreads over 570 sq.m. of land. There is water-well which could be used for watering the garden drinking or anything else. There are several fig-trees, a huge forty years old pine-tree, a big walnut tree and other fruit-trees. There is a big double-sized iron gate, which leads to parking area with capacity of up to six cars inside the yard.

Water and electricity are connected to mains; Cable TV and Internet could be easily installed. The house is stable and in good condition but would need some renovations as it has been unhabited for the last few years.

The Village:

The village of Beglej offers all the basic uttilitie like post-office, shops , pubs , cafes etc
According to the researches, the history of the village begins at the late XVth century, when the ancestors of the current residents of Beglej ran away from Rhodopa Mountain under the threat of being forced by the Ottomans to convert their religion from Ortodoxal Christian to Islam. In fact the meaning of the name „Beglej “ in archaic bulgarian language is „refugee“.
The nature has generously endowed Beglej.Beautiful areas, unspoiled by the civilization and the constructions are the canyons of the rivers Vit, Katuneshka and Zmiitsa, the areas „Krivokroi“, „Pchelina“ ,and many others.Yet there are more than 20 caves in the area to prove the unique beauty of Beglej and its surroundings.
During the XXth century there was a special „climate“ boarding-school due to the unique air-draught (which can't be found anywhere else), which is extremely healthy for people suffering asthma or any kind of respiratory illness.
The dominant architectural style of Beglej is from the age of the monarchism (1880-1944).It is described with big houses, high windows and doors, everything in the buildings shows greatness and majesty.
