Pampatar, the original Port on the Island is steeped in caribbean history of pirates and battles. The fort is a standing testament to the heroic exploits of new world explorers and bandits alike.

Margarita enjoys Duty Free status and is a shopping mecca for the jet-set of Venezuela and tourists for across the globe. With petrol around 10p a gallon, local beer 25p and a hearty meal for 2 for about £5, it´s not suprising the locals are always so happy.
