Set in about ½ acre in this thermal spa town, in the spectacular Morvan National Park, it is guaranteed to attract a steady flow of visitors throughout the year.
The accommodation has eighteen bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and telephone. Four of these are situated on the ground floor, with seven more on each of the two floors above. The spacious reception rooms include a 45m2 living room, and two further sitting rooms of 24m2 and 35m2. The kitchen measures 25m2, with a cellar and boiler room below. A new boiler services central heating to the ground floor and four of the first floor bedrooms, with electric heating in the remaining rooms.
In the grounds, a maison de gardien, or caretakers's cottage, has been completely renovated to provide a living room with a kitchen area, bedroom, bathroom and WC. The house is centrally heated, and has a basement area for parking and storage.
There are two outbuildings of 12m2 and 15m2, and a 12m2 shed.
This unspoilt region of France is becoming better known to British buyers who are responding to modest prices in picturesque villages. The forests, rivers and lakes offer miles of walks, bridle paths and cycle routes, as well as many associated watersports. Access to this area is not as direct from the UK as to more traditional haunts, but this seems to add to the allure! Flights to Lyon, or via Paris on the TGV to Le Creusot offer the best alternatives to a lengthy drive from the northern ports.
