Surrounding Area This is a lovely town set on the River Cure. It has a lovely dock area for pleasure boats and an attractive town centre. The town dates from a charter of 901 and the abandoned Chateau de Betry chapel was procured as the parish church in 1213.

The town is graced with a lovely medieval bridge built in 1238 and restored since. The town has a medical centre and an extensive range of commerce including a supermarket,two bakeries and various other shops. There are restaurants and several bars.

The town has a school and a summer camp-site and is a popular tourist spot in the season.
