It provides enough space for „alfresco” dining and a garage. All the windows are equipped with a wooden joinery. Shabla itself is a contemporary very well developed summer resort with shops, restaurants, community centre, etc. The Taukliman Nature Reserve, also known as the Bird Bay, is located nearly 15 km. eastern of the town of Kavarna and 60 km. away from Varna. The area has a number of small picturesque beaches, warm mineral springs, and tiny rocky islands. According to some researches, the region was inhabited since a long time ago. The Touzlata Locality, outlying as near as 4 km. to the town of Balchik, is set up south-western of Taukliman, right next to the beach itself. It is noted as mud-curing and spa resort, but also boasts a “golden” sand beach stripe, and suitable for swimming small bays. The oldest preserved lighthouse on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is situated close to a small fishermen settlement right next to Shabla Cape. There are many archaeological findings dating as far back as the 4th century A.C. discovered nearby the old Byzantium fortress, which are exposed in the Town’s Cultural Centre. Both Shablensko and Durankulashko Lakes provide a warm welcoming to a huge variety of bird species. It is a nature habitat of the singing swan and the red neck goose.
