The building has an undoubted character and is visible from a long distance; it’s located above a pretty village, where one can find shops and services, and it has an amazing view over the surrounding hills and mountains, scattered with castles and small villages. The centre of Rome is about 60 km distant, reachable in less than 1 hour.

The mansion, as it is now, dates back to the 18th century and rises on the remains of an old Byzantine monastery; during the Resurgence period the villa gained a considerable importance, as a gathering point for the patriots, such as Garibaldi, who unified Italy.
In 2006 it has gone through a thorough restoration, sympathetic with the original structure.

Villa Garibaldi rises on a rock slab and it’s on 4 levels. The ground floor is composed by a large open space with bricked arches and some grottos dug into the rock; it currently houses a museum dedicated to Garibaldi, but it could be easily converted into a spectacular restaurant.

On the first and second floor there are 4 self-contained apartments composed by a living room with open kitchen, one bedroom and 1 bathroom. The ancient holes and slits are still visible both on the inside and outside of the house. The last floor, in the garrets, is composed by an independent apartment with living room, kitchen, study, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a wonderful terrace with panoramic views.
The interior of the villa is finished with typical materials such as “cotto” tiled floorings, timber beams and wooden windows and frames. All electrical and heating systems have been planned to be environment-friendly, with solar panels and a boiler fuelled with pellet and biomass.

On the outside there’s an outbuilding of about 100 sq m left at a builder’s finish stage, ideal for housing a covered pool, a Spa, extra rooms or a further apartment.

The pertaining land, of about 3 Ha, is mainly covered by an olive grove that produces a first quality olive oil.

With just some small improvements (such as the building of a pool and a kitchen on the ground floor), Villa Garibaldi could become a perfect location for weddings or other events, thanks to the beauty of the building, the charm of the landscape and proximity to Rome.
