This ancient property, named “l’Olivello”, lies in a marvellous position between Perugia and Umbertide, in an area where many old castles (like the Antognolla one) and medieval towers can be found. The access is very easy, thanks to a white road approximately 500 m long. The private land measures approximately 3,5 ha and, partly woodland and partly olive grove.
The main building, a medieval watch-tower recently restored, measures almost 450 gross sqm and it is subdivided into three apartments. In addition to them, on the ground floor there are the utility rooms (with swimming pool filters, the water treatment system and the central heating boilers) and a large 50 sqm room, with its own bathroom and kitchen. This room, called the Green Stable, is an independent area, rectangular in shape and column-less, which can host a workshop, an additional lounge or can be used as just a relaxation area.
Very close to the main building stand two restored annexes that allow further hospitality. All apartments have their own name and are completely furnished in a very pleasant and peculiar way:
Cantina (cellar)
Formerly a cellar and a stable, it is an apartment lying on the ground floor of the main building. It includes a large living room with kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. It has kept for the most part its original exposed stone walls, up to 1,2 m thick. Suitable for two people.
Casa (house).
It is the biggest one, measuring approximately internal 140 sq m. On two levels, it includes a living room with fireplace, a big kitchen which was formerly the most ancient nucleus of the building dating up to the 15th century, two large double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Suitable for four people, plus two.
Soffitta. (garret)
This apartment includes a large living room with kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. Measuring approximately internal 70 sq m, it is suitable for two people plus two.
Casa and soffitta can easily be joined together to make a bigger unit.
Porcilaia. (pigsty)
Independent small house measuring approximately 40 sq m, it includes a small kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. There is an old bread oven nearby. Towards the valley, there lies a wood with olive trees, holms and oaks. Suitable for two people.
Essiccatoio. (drying-house)
Independent small house measuring approximately 70 sq m, overlooking the swimming pool. It includes kitchen, living room, double bedroom and bathroom. Suitable for two people plus two, also for handicapped people.
The swimming pool measures 14 metres by 6. The inner coating makes the water a deep green colour, which perfectly suits the surroundings. All around it there lies a 150 sq m solarium with stone flooring.
The property has been operated since 2005 as a tourist accommodation; it is indeed great also as a private residency, for one or two families.
