It was 5 generations ago in 1875

that David Morrison laid the

foundations of Altrincham's oldest

name in Estate Agency. The office

was based in George Street not far

from Marks and Spencer.

In those days, before motorcars were commonplace, rent collection and property management was undertaken on foot, horse or via a modern invention called the Bicycle! It was a daily event, spending considerable time, travelling to and from Knutsford, Ashley, Lymm, Sale and Hale, to

advise, survey, sell and let properties in those areas. Can you imagine. Accompanied viewings? Life was very hard in those days but then as now, the family had 'True-Grit'.

Morrisons went on to emerge from the century as one of the most active Land Agencies in North Cheshire. Both David and his son Stanley, were Mayor of Altrincham and today, the Morrison family remains very active in the affairs of Altrincham and surrounds.
