Where is it?
Caracola Beach and Spa Resort is on the south eastern edge of Isla Margarita, an Island in the Caribbean that is part of Venezuela (approx 38 km north east of the mainland).

Hurricanes?
Isla Margarita is below the hurricane belt and as a result does NOT get hit by Hurricanes. In fact, very little rain falls at all on the Island. In 2007 there were 320 ‘sunny days’ (defined as having 6 hours or more of sun).

What are the temperatures like?
Average temperatures range from lows of 25°C to highs of 32°C throughout the year, evenings are warm averaging in the low 20's

Venezuela?
Venezuela is the 4th largest producer of oil and a member of OPEC, and the largest gas producer in the Americas. Currently the country is in the middle of an economic boom. Whilst oil prices remain high the financial boom for the country will continue, however, teh government is not wasting the financial bonanza as past governments have done, infractural improvements including 15 new hospitals, and 5 new mass-transit systems have been been approved. Education is at the heart of the new social movement, literacy rates are already among the best in Latin america over 93%.

Politics?
Venezuela is a social democracy based in a Federal Republic, the current Government has been in power since 1998, it's Leader, Hugo Chavez is a popular and outspoken figure, he recently returned to power in the 2006 election with over 62% of the popular vote. Whilst internationally the USA appear to have limited relations with the current administration, Venezuela has been active around the globe signing trade agreements, which is fuelling the economic growth.

Margarita
Isla Margarita is the 'face' of Venezuela, most holiday makers see Margarita more than the mainland, the economy is largely driven by tourism, not just from overseas, but from Venezuelans. Therefore the economy of the island will not suffer from global recession. The Duty Free status of the Island encourges visitors for shopping, one of the islands main activities. The renowned SAMBIL shopping center offers all the luxuries of the modern world at duty free prices.

Fresh Fish meals will vary between £5 -10

High end luxury and tourist restaurants will start from £5 - £15.00
