El Rompido, Costa de la Luz

Dating back to the 1930s La Leyenda is the oldest house in the village of El Rompido and at one stage housed no fewer than 9 families, including the Guadia Civil and the Postmaster General. El Rompido initially started its history on the sand spit where a tuna tinning factory was built and accommodation for all the fishermen.La Leyenda supplied all the mainland produce that they required. The house has the beach on its doorstep and periodically the water laps gently against the edge of the open courtyard. The house has an attractive blend of Moorish and Andalucian architecture, internally with high ceilings, Arabic tiles and large wooden beams and outside a beautiful courtyard, with a secret garden opening out onto the beach. In total there are 7 bedrooms, a winter and summer residence and a large living room with an open bar. The total size of the house is 400m2, excluding a large upstairs terrace and the courtyard.
