Uzumlu is a picturesque village some 15 minutes drive from Calis Beach or Fethiye situated in a spectacular valley surrounded by pine clad hills and mountains.  

Uzumlu in Turkish means grape and the village is the centre of wine growing in the region. As its name implies you will see vineyards all around the village along with olive groves and tobacco. You will also see ‘Dastar’ cloth as well as cotton and silk fabrics woven on looms in many of the villagers’ houses, being made to scarves, shawls and table decorations. Uzumlu is well placed for many of the attractions of the area including Cadianda, Saklikent Gorge, Tlos, Xanthos and Patara with its famous beach.
Uzumlu is a typical Turkish Village and there are village shops, several restaurants and a wine bar (Syrap House), on the main street there is a chemist, doctor and clinic, two petrol stations and a town hall. There is also an excellent market held in the square every Friday and regular transport via bus or Dolmus (Mini bus) to Fethiye and beyond.
